PEM POCUS Fellowship
The Paediatric Emergency Medicine Point-of-Care Ultrasound Fellowship (PEM POCUS) at The Hospital for Sick Children is an innovative one year program designed to train future leaders in the emerging field of PEM POCUS.
Resident Rotations
We are also pleased to offer an innovative one-month hands on elective rotation for Residents, and Fellows. As we expand our program, these rotations are in high demand. Space is limited.

PEM POCUS Fellowship
This unique program emphasizes establishing technical expertise and advanced understanding of PEM-specific POCUS applications, learning effective POCUS instruction and education strategies, developing program management and leadership skills and studying POCUS research methods. Exposure to pioneering POCUS applications, industry interface, global POCUS initiatives and collaborative US projects within SickKids further support academic career aspirations.
Experience working within the North American health care system as a PEM fellow is an asset to your application as this role involves direct clinical care to better understand POCUS integration into clinical decision making.
Resident Rotations
- Are you a resident training in Canada? Join us for a one-month elective as part of your residency training. You’ll get exposure to skills that you can take back to your program and implement in patient care. Contact us early as space fills up quickly!
Advanced Training
This opportunity is for Staff, Attending, or Consultant physicians already in practice who are looking to gain immersive experience in Paediatric POCUS. We work with each trainer to develop a personalized innovative education program to meet their needs and emphasize technical expertise and advanced understanding of paediatric-specific point-of-care imaging applications. There is no clinical practice commitment. Trainerships typically last between 4-12 weeks duration.
